Neither one was very exciting, and both the World Series and Harriet Miers were over almost before they started! They will at least make for interesting historical footnotes. Maybe when we look back at these days the 2005 Words Series won't seem like such a letdown (to all non-Chicagoans) and we'll just remember Harriet as a prequel. My prediction is Janet Rogers Brown, arguably the most qualified and able woman jurist in the country. I was flabbergasted that she was'nt given the nomination in the first place. Having been through qualification already what excuse could the senate judiciary committee give for turning her down now? Rhetorical question when dealing with half and never wits like Edward Kennedy, Joe Biden, Arlen Specter and Diane Feinstein just to name the cream of the crop.
